Ok, I’m going to spread some pre-Warehouse Project ’09 love, starting with the enigmatic Daedelus. Alfred Darlington aka Daedelus Digitalis born Alfred Weisberg-Roberts, flips experimental electronic music with the fervour and savvy of a skilled craftsman, much in the same way as his pseudonym suggests. Its hard to really pin down a genre on this man’s music but I can tell you that it switches from experimental randomness to Glitch-y, almost dubstep heights and when paired with his dandy threads, it seems really uncanny – in the coolest possible way.

Imagine something like a quirkier Moderat with a strange love for twee pop than techno. But when it comes to dropping bombs live, you can count on Daedelus (Ninja Tunes) to up the tempo in the style of the early UK rave tunes he got turned on to while very young.

And that strange Monome thing that he uses during his sets makes him look like a crazed Dr Jekyll orchestrating music.
Its just splendid, splendid stuff.

Join me at Warehouse Project 09 to see Daedelus on the same bill as Modeselektor and Skream this 24th of October in Manchester. And you can get your hands on Daedelus’ Love To Make Music To cd released on Ninja Tunes here. Or on Amazon here.
