This is a bit late, I know. But I just cannot get over them right now. First heard this band on French commercial radio 2 weeks ago and I was like, “Who IS this? I need to know who this is!” The DJ was speaking in French and everything got lost in translation, I thought it was some kind of French version of a very camp Strokes. But they aren’t!

Empire of the Sun are total geninuses! Hailing from the best electro-pop region at the moment: Australia, (think Cut Copy, Presets, Van She etc) featuring Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore of PNAU, this duo take real effort to get proper decked out in pimped out sci-fi costumes, spillin out impossibly catchy and smooth, glam-ed up disco-pop.
And the over-the-top videos! All that super-hero powers and faux kung-fu thing. Plus their incredible artwork. It’s just amazing.
