Do you like hipster hip hop? Or is it just something about skinny middle-class white boys trying to string sentences and squeak them out quickly enough that appeals to you? If so, then perhaps, Juiceboxxx is for you. Something like the male version of Kid Sister, Juiceboxxx is trying to do 100 miles per hour but could only manage about 30 miles, bless him.
We tried not to cringe. At least Kid Sister raps.
Maybe its because rap is supposed to be all attitude, edginess and genuine-ness and Juiceboxxx is anything but. Nothing wrong with that. Sure, this is party-music. Perhaps when you’ve taken too many pills anything goes. I dont know. The live videos seem really fucking awesome though, all that energy. Personally, I’m not sold by the music but I would definitely like to get absolutely munted and get thrashed in neon paint at his gigs.
This makes me kind of sad. Because skinny white boys like Mike Skinner from the Streets, and that dude Just Jack make awesome street rap /pop-rap and you know what they mean when they say real music. I don’t care what other people say but the first time the Streets’ released their debut album Original Pirate Material – the sound of the production and the lyrics, they made me shiver. You can just feel it, permeating from the songs. And Mike Skinner can seriously spit.
