Bad-ass electro badboy, Simon Delacroix aka the Toxic Avenger is bringing back the might and fury of hard, bangin’ french electro back to the forefront with 2 new releases coming out on the IHEARTCOMIX imprint on 29th of September in digital format and October 27th in vinyl.
TOXIC IS DEAD will feature massive, massive remixes from Drop The Lime, the label man himself Franki Chan, Brighton’s own South Central and the Cyberpunkers from Italy. (Who dat, you ask? Check it here: http://www.myspace.com/cyberpunkers)
IHEARTCOMIX is telling me this is groundbreaking and a new era for Toxic Avenger. I’m not easily convinced by overzealous label promotion as they sometimes can be but I actually love IHEARTCOMIX because they are decent plus this title track is FUCKING FIT!
More sinister, primitive and definitely mature then Delacroix’s previous work and remixes.
Fellow labelmates Acid Girls have thrown in a good rework of one of Toxic’s tracks off the SCION cd sampler as well so check it. Its a signature wonky Acid Girls track with a kind of German techno flavor. I’m hearin’ this cd sampler release is gonna be free for awhile, keep yer ears peeled.
Lille’s DELTA from the new up and coming Anchor Factory label have done an excellent techy-fidget house edit of the track, keepin’ to the sinister side of the original tune and maximising the bass and distortion almost to the point of sweet, violent noise. So turn it up, turn it up! Keep a look out for these kids. I hope to hear more from this lot soon.
