fenech soler

Fenech-Soler makes me wanna dance like its 1997! If we all remember quite clearly, the indie-dance prototypes of the time were still quite primitive as they endeavored to cut, copy and fit dance beats with indierock – quite awkward. Still, I loved the shambolic fun anyway.
Fenech-Soler, on the other hand, started out in a bedroom studio in Northampton and only first caught mainstream attention just last year at the In The City unsigned-bands festival in Manchester. To those who went, it was immediately clear that this band is definitely different to the indie-dance prototypes I was talking about earlier, maybe even ahead of their time.
For one, their sound is super smooth, effortless, polished and modern, the basslines hook-laden and they are not afraid to use synths and use them well. These guys actually know what the fuck they’re doing and understand the art of crafting a proper dance tune.
PLUS I love the fact that they are more dancepop than dancerock just like I love the fact that its tight white jeans and sequined jackets – putting the glam back into dance!

I’m kinda waiting for them to bloom into a kind of english Cut Copy because you just know that Fenech-Soler is no longer just the band to watch anymore, they’re actually on the cusp of cult status – without a doubt.

The highly anticipated new single “Lies” will be released through Moda Music on the 2nd of November, and has already won plays from bignames like Pete Tong and Annie Mac with new remixes to watch out for from Alex Metric and Tom Staar

Check out the swish video and get a load of this disco remix from The Phantom’s Revenge!
