Ghostly International gave Bad Fotography the heads up on Phantogram‘s upcoming release, Eyelid Movies. Phantogram (formerly Charlie Everywhere) has recently signed to Barsuk Records, and while the LP will be out on Ghostly International, the CD version will be released on Barsuk.
This New York band reminds me a bit of Caribou, Beach House, Blonde Redhead etc. Actually, they were recommended to Ghostly by School of Seven Bells.
When I’m Small has that old vinyl crackling effect layered over Sarah Barthel’s haunting vocals and they use beats and samples. It’s pop, but its kinda dark.
