Both are from Chicago and BBU’s already hailed as the next big thing by Pitchfork (also outta Chi-town, if anyone’s asking)

Instant approval by the giant indie e-zine is one thing, getting shows at this year’s SXSW in Austin is another different achievement altogether.
What is BBU? They’re party-party-party with a political conscience. Its hip hop but “no bitches no hos, we rap about queens“. Its DIY, its indie, its awesome.

Richie August one half of another Chicago / New York up-and-coming monster that is HULK, part rave, all dubstep danger duo. If you havent heard their track AngelDust, then you aint heard nothin yet. HULK is on the PlayMe label who is the one throwing out free remixes out to folks. PlayMe’s got two new releases out by dubstep crew HavocNDeed and Lea Luna & Mike Balance which you can buy on beatport here.
