The Drums have finally completed and uploaded the much awaited video, Forever & Ever Amen. It’s just been upped 2 days ago.
My take? I like the video, I like the song, I like the band, and the fact that Jonathan Pierce’s dancin has the potential to make Ian Curtis and Morrissey proud. Quite impressive for an american kid. And I like that its surf pop and The Cure.
I love that Forever & Ever Amen is so Joy Division, and I like the band’s 80s leaning.
Plus the fact that Jacob runs Holiday Records gets more votes from me.
Everything about them screams NOSTALGIA! YOUTH! LOVE! SUN! DENIM!
But there is just something else missing. I can’t quite put my finger on it. Kinda like I’m expecting some kind of epicness, some kind of experience, emotion. I like them, and very much. I’m just not feeling them… yet. It’ll just have to wait until their full length is released.
