veronical fallsNo, no, no, NOT The Veronicas. More like Veronica Falls. Although I am a shameless fan of the former, this one’s about this part London / part Glaswegian indie band that caught my fancy with the extremely catchy Beachy Head. Word from Wichita was that Beachy Head was previously an unreleased track, good thing that it’s revived then, coz I can’t stop listening to it.

The band counts ex The Royal We members, Roxanne and Patrick as their line up. I loved The Royal We for the short period they existed around for. Anyway, Veronica Falls’ music kinda reveals alot about their glaswegian pop roots: the jangly, lo-fi guitars, catchy choruses, married together with a kinda sweet sadistic, morbid lyrics, about love and death. Think of it as murder music for the unassuming, twee, indie-pop fiend.

I can only see more momentum for this guys, having already toured with NYC’s Vivian Girls and the purveyors of perfect pop themselves: Teenage Fanclub.
The Beachy Head / Staying Here single comes out via No Pain In Pop on June 14th. In the meantime, Wichita has given us this track from the b-side of the single.
