Sorry I didn’t blog last night. Had to go to a party. Anyway – Bright Star Catalogue. Where do I begin. Bright Star Catalogue is a london collective of what, I do not know. Not much was mentioned in the email, or their myspace but I suppose they’re a collective of musicians, artists etc.
I got sent this lovely 6 minute long whopper of a track and I’m like yeah. This is good stuff. Analogue synths taking control of your mind starting with a bleeping swarm, sweeping filters, nearly hitting that trance high and heavy on the acid. The muted sirens in the background exploding into bright 80s keys and oscillating moog riffs.
This is fucking good piano work at near-orchestric meganess, I can tell you that. I much prefer this to Ships, because the music is gorgeous on its own without vocals, but that’s just me.
