Forget Washed Out. Death In Plains is the one you want to watch. Enrico Boccioletti’s brand of lo-fi bleached out chilled pop is so much more progressive than Washed Out. I hate the term “chillwave” but you get the idea. Death In Plains is like WAVVES colliding with Future Islands / Light Pollution and has that fuck off urgency, if shoegaze ever permits it.

Boccioletti’s opted for the late 90s type fuzzy layered Pavement guitars droning, feedback-ing over synthesized drumbeats and hazy vocals. And how cool is this artwork? It should be on a fucking t shirt.
