Not just some metal guy gone soft, Justin K Broadrick is first and foremost an experimental genius. His credentials as guitarist of grindcore pioneers Napalm Death and founder of harsh industrial / IDM / metal band Godflesh only form a small part of his wide-ranging soundscape palate. I remembered being in an experimental screamy noise core band back in the day and Napalm Death being one of our influences.
He has since gone on to provoke reaction by collaborations with the likes of Kevin Martin, the notorious UK dubstep producer known as The Bug.
Who is The Bug, you ask?
Techno Animal with The Bug is one of many of various sideprojects, then Jesu, and Pale Sketcher became the latest, recently signed by Ghostly International.
In Pale Sketcher, JK has swapped guitars with melancholy electronica and heavily textured synthesizers. He sets out to deconstruct and strip all excess from previously unreleased Jesu tracks to produce something entirely different and unrecognizable.
Ambient and athmospheric but at the same time, brutal in its subtlety.

Jesu: Pale Sketches De-mixed album will be released via Ghostly on August 24th.
