Another day another good band. Brute Chorus from Londontown just dropped into my radar with their new single Heaven coming out in September 6th. A misleadingly bleak song disguised in an upbeat tempo. Hardly any guitars in the song – just bare, raw drums and the bass going up and down. Meaty.
These guys really remind me of The Clash in songs like Grow Fins. Lyrically, I can’t help comparing them Razorlight. Maybe its the way James Steel sings, its like kinda all over the place – the word for it is “improvised”. But then there’s that odd screaming bits. In All The Pilgrims , the band veers to a totally different vibe – going for that garage rock / rock n roll angle.
