BOOOOM!! Russ Chimes is back in the scene again with something fucking awesome in the pipeline. Well, okay, to be fair he never really did disappeared per say, but this new EP has that kind of first time WOW-effect. The Midnight Club EP is a definite indication of Russ’ departure away from his old, synthwave style, like in She’s Got The Heat and Daytona, tracks that exploded him into the blogosphere a few years back.

In Midnight Club, it’s much more polished house, made with the sole intention of setting the club on fire. It’s sexy, it’s hot and dizzingly deep. Plus a fucking awesome video to boot. Just look at the trailer! Bloody smooth production. I love it.
The first time I got a taste of his change of direction was in his remix for Cassette Kids‘s song, Spin. It’s ridiculously infectious.
