What the fuck Cradle of Filth? No seriously. I stopped listening to Dani and his band after Cruelty And The Beast. To me, Midian signalled a new age of polished-ness that I just find impossible to associate with them. That’s a few years ago. Now, a few days back, I received an email about their new album, Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa out on 1st November.

A noble effort, I am sure, but one listen of Lilith Immaculate and I’m like WHAT THE FUCK? It’s not the same Cradle I used to know. It’s so commercial it hurts. Some may argue that Cradle has always been commercial but just at this point, I’d like to differ. Dani’s like “this is the most brutal output yet” and I’m like really? For me, it will always be the extremeness of Dusk and Her Embrace and Cruelty And The Beast that I hold on to closer.
