Dino from BeatisMurder dropped this beautiful 3-track ep, Unknown Pressures from his band Liger a couple of days ago. Dark and poetic indie from Germany. Vocals like the deranged Elon Katz from White Car. Alot of references to early goth rock, the laziest and easiest comparison would be to pull similarities from Joy Division (obviously counting the ep’s giveaway title), but I’m thinking its a less whiny The Silent Scream, an 80s goth band.
Rectangular and Body Blow are moody songs, deliberately arranged in a disjointed fashion. The real charmer though, is Funereal. I hate to say it, but it’s got radio potential. I can imagine it being played in SMILE at Manchester. Very nostalgic synths. Fans of Zola Jesus will love this band.
