The good thing about not being seen is that while I hide in the shadows, lurk around the edges, I get to observe with better freedom. The truth is that, Performance has always been on the brink of something bigger. They have been “up and coming” for a few years now. A quiet hiatus here. A few band members lost there.
I’ve moved to and lived in Manchester and moved back to Leeds and they are still up and coming. I caught glimpses of them at Night & Day. Later, I picked up one of Joe Stretch’s book in a bookstore near Piccadilly.

2010 arrives and The Living was threading on thin ice – they were sounding too close to The Killers for comfort. I lost touch then.
Suddenly they are back, with the same electro rock / indie pop sound – will this prove to be a pointless effort? Should I be expecting something… else..?
Not really, I should’nt. They return with the sound they know best, more articulated and energetic than ever, perhaps less members means more focus. I missed their launch party last night, which is quite disappointing. But here’s to the future, I have a feeling it’s gonna be awesome.
