Greetings once again from the hive that is RBMA Radio and all the music that lives inside us. I hope the first instalment of this series left your ears satisfied with tasty musical treats, all feedback is welcome.
This time round I’ve tried to retain the nature of eclecticness and hopefully cater something for everyone, with beats ranging from mob deep classic to modern british grime at its best to the “post dubstep era” and finishing with a friendly and informative chat with Franz Ferdinand.
So lets begin with a gent who goes by the name FaltyDL New York born and dedicated smoker in his prime. He reminds me more of the croydon bass culture boys than something you expect to come out of NYC. Mixing in classic hip hop, some funk, a dash of sould and sprinkle of house/electro bass his sets are known for taking you on an amble through downtown music metropolis. Holding releases on Planet MU and Amsterdams Rush Hour FaltyDL looks set to go off sometime soon.

For my next ditty I’ll head back to our fair shores and lay down a mix from the man that is Terror Danjah. An absolute behemoth in the grime world, he has produced and led the way for many, what are now, household grime mc’s. This mix goes massive and is comparable with a bass bat to the ears.

On my internet and electronic travels recently I keep seeing this phrase referring to the “post dubstep wave”. Now it might just be me but “post” anything generally hold the implication that whatever came before is now over and finished. Well dubstep is definitely not doing that so I’m a bit baffled where it came from. Anyway this guy is dubbed “post dubstep” and this set as well as one he and skepta did, are something special so we can forget semantics for now. With liquid dark bass lines reminiscent of the early dubstep movement laced with atmospheric deep production you can see Desto’s music being played out either at club or home equally.

Finally here lies the Glaswegian Giants that are Franz Ferdinand. They stopped by the studio to have a chat by fireside and run us through their seminal tracks throughout their career so far,
