I’ve mainly spent the day blowing my brain to shreds using extra loud music and my mate’s headphones that, apparently, cost about 300 boys. I can understand why, my meagre 50quid pair now seems hugely disappointing and just straight up crap in comparison. Could I really justify spending that much dollar on headphones when I am clearly not a renowned dj lapping up the sun rays throughout L.A.
Anyway, I’m pretty much relishing the opportunity to kick back and listen to something a little bit more mellowed out right now.
First up is a bit of a special fireside chat. I’ve seen these guys several times and live they are an absolute wonder and at the same time this kind of indie rock sex appeal oozes of the stage as they work. I seem to have come over all urban all of a sudden. Now that I have my nation behind me, playing down the ones and two’s and climbing out the gutter that is the mean streets of Shoreditch I couldn’t resist dropping this sweet mix from Jazzy Jay. The thing I luuuuv so much about it is that it is Hip Hop NOT gangsta. It is positive and feel good, and obviously hasn’t forgotten the soul roots where it all came from. There is no negativity just straight up good time party vibes!! I challenge you to not nod your head to this one. Plus the crowd sounds hyped!

To end today’s proceedings on a much more ambient pop infused note I thought I might throw this one out for y’all to get audibly aroused too. AEIOU live from Sonar Sessions. They are the kind of music I can imagine maxed out hippies high on led dancing around too. With long clothes flowing around as they twirl and spin wildly. It is ambient and pretty beautiful as well, kind of like the polyphonic spree if they were a little bit darker and a whole lute less annoying. Check them out below
