Who else wishes they were in Ibiza? Or Croatia? Or any of these beautiful sunned countries putting on some of the best festival line ups the planet has bared witness too! Well I do, luckily though I have my trip to Ibiza pinned down and sorted, complete with a Miami Vice them and dress code that will be strictly implemented. We are going to look oh so good!
Less about me and more about the music though ay. Todays first stop is with the trio what go by the name We Have Band. Over the past 3 years they have enjoyed the kind of respectable rise to fame that most people would kill for. At the same time they have sacrificed zero credibility, thanks to the likes of xfm and nme picking up their music when they were still playing small time gigs in art clubs. The live set comes from Melt! Festival and is a perfect showcase of their sound and just why and what it has been that has helped them reach the point they are now at.

Closely taking up the rear….is a spectacular set from Roller Express (Toddla T and Redlight transmorphed into one) The live set is taking from St Pauls Carnival up in Bristol. Despite having a reggae twinge to a lot of their tunes this time they come out and start slapping around some UK bass culture, dusting of garage classics followed by what you think is taking you down a jump up jungle path only to start dropping exclusive remixes all over us.
Well worth the listen and a serious challenge to resist the urge to jump up and skank out along with the guys. Carnival Vibes!!

Now, I thought about making these dudes the featured artists and then just thought nah. Magnetic Man have their mugs are everywhere at the minute and it seems hard to escape either listening to them or at least being aware of what they’re doing. However they do make some pretty original music, and during this Fireside Chat list early influences, the beginning of Big Apple Records and even drop in some ooolllldd white label tunes that many who are newer to the dubstep scene might not know but should make sure they do!
