Ranvir Bassi considers his music a rebellion against fidelity, the same fidelity that he considered himself to be a slave to. Perhaps we’re speaking the same language because I feel the same way. This struggle to constantly achieve, fit the mould, keep to the same cloth you were cut from, blindfold yourself and keep to your faith, regardless of its holes. There should not be any question, we must accept it.
What about choice, and change, and chance? Don’t they not exist or do they exist only for “the weak”. I don’t want to be bound to this fear, this fear that has gripped us for generations, this fear to change.
Somehow, Ranvir Bassi’s lo-fi noise becomes the soundtrack for these frustrated thoughts. Yes, it is a rejection of fidelity, but, correct me if I am wrong, this is also the sound of our anxieties. Intense, maddening, dissonant. No truths, no promises, no expectations.
We cut our hair and now we are reborn.
