The notoriously hard to google band, Foxes from Australia. I have been meaning to write about this young screamo band from Perth since their free ep somehow got through to me via the grapevine last year. If you, like me, have never really gotten over the greatness of Level Plane Records when it was still around and bands like Bright Calm Blue, You & I, Envy were bands that you hold dear, bands you sing along to with your friends when you was all kids and grew up with a history of pain and loneliess and all we ever did was go to hardcore shows to get away from it all – then you will like Foxes.

They remind me so much of my youth. Honest, screamo. Shirt tugging, white knuckled screaming truth and passion and power and emotion. Big crescendos, epic breakdowns and climaxes, strained screamy vocals. The kind of band that plays in the crowd, as close as possible, not at a distance. The kind of band who are not a bunch of macho twats. The kind of band I like. The kind of band that fits in so nicely with the new revival of post-hardcore / screamo like Touche Amore and La Dispute etc. Infact, fans of Pianos Become The Teeth will fucking love Foxes.
Go onto their facebook for information on ep downloads and stuff. They do give aways of digital versions of their eps for free to fans. The latest one on the give away list is their 2012 untitled 5 track ep.
