RBMA: Amon Tobin
As we ease ever closer to the wintery, commercially infused wonderland that Is Christmas. Spirits rise, drinks are downed and office parties abound. Inter office hook ups are resigned to the deepest recesses of conversation and excuses cunningly thought up as to why you just can’t make it in the day after. Classic Christmas vibes....
Fiordmoss
First on the list and my personal favorite by a long way is Fiordmoss. They are a 3-piece outfit consisting of a singer, acoustic guitar, and a synth/sample/keyboard player. The result is something that is akin to Portishead and Bjork, in equal parts but a lot better and different.
RBMA: Benji B
So the big news of the past week or so, at least in my world, is something to do with a dictator falling of a chair or something, he hurt his ankle or something…..Only joking the real news came from last Thursday night when Rbma took over the entire London Eye. Dubbed as 30 gigs...
RBMA: Skream
With the last dribbles of sunshine plopping through our wanting and slightly tanned, but quickly fading skin, we can all start to take a more solemn view of the world for a couple of months. It’s those weekends where going out, rain sodden and freezing from a biting wind seems like something you definitely do...
RBMA: Iron & Wine
Firstly, my apologies, and many of them for not having written anything for a while. If there are any personal grievances please get in contact with me and I’ll happily make amends, through manual labour, washing dishes, dog walking, hair pruning, under arm tickling……whatever really. The point being I feel bad, the summer ran away...
RBMA: GEIOM
Feel like I’m going through a bit of a musical funk at the minute. My skanking tanks are pretty much rinsed out for at least another week, which includes grimey wobbles and bass. I cannot stand any of what is going on in the mainstream charts bar maybe a couple of singer songwriters hither and...
RBMA – DJ Krush
I finally got to see, probably, one of my favorite bands ever, like EVER last night at Brixton Academy. They go by The Music. I thought this might be an endearing way for me to start the post as they are Leeds boys and took pleasure in reminding us that we are southerners and they...
RBMA: We Have Band
Who else wishes they were in Ibiza? Or Croatia? Or any of these beautiful sunned countries putting on some of the best festival line ups the planet has bared witness too! Well I do, luckily though I have my trip to Ibiza pinned down and sorted, complete with a Miami Vice them and dress code...
RBMA: The Kills
I’ve mainly spent the day blowing my brain to shreds using extra loud music and my mate’s headphones that, apparently, cost about 300 boys. I can understand why, my meagre 50quid pair now seems hugely disappointing and just straight up crap in comparison. Could I really justify spending that much dollar on headphones when I...
RBMA: The Album Leaf
As another week draws to a close and the weekend bursts into full swing, the bankers undo their top buttons, the pr girls hike their skirts up a dash and let their hair fall around their shoulders, yes just like those commercials. When bar staff sigh silently to themselves at the impending stream of drunks...
RBMA: Debilorithmicos
So this is festival season then isn’t it!? Can’t say I’ve been that wildly impressed so far. Basically it’s just made me skint, I’ve had to hang out in the rain and watch a tiny man on a massive stage dj to a crowd of people who are staring and seem completely unprovoked to move...
RBMA: Yuck
This has been on of those odd weeks. I’ve been out having a few drinks, nothing to reckless mind, most nights and consequently I’m in some kind of weird half hungover, sleep deprived ambient state of euphoria. One person actually said to me the other day I looked different, my response was “oh yeh, I...
